JK Rowling Reveals Lethal White News

By March 22, 2018Adaptations, News

Is anyone else checking JK’s Twitter and searching Google every few days for the release date of Lethal White? The novel will be the fourth in the Cormoran Strike series written under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith and it feels like we’ve been waiting for ages, so when I saw J. K Rowling talking about Lethal White this week on Twitter I was excited for a news reveal!

Sadly the news isn’t a release date for Lethal White, and it is looking like that will be a while away yet as Rowling is still writing the novel. However, she did reveal that the next novel will definitely be adapted for screen. Here’s that tweet.

If you’ve enjoyed the BBC adaptation starring Tom Burke and Holliday Grainger then this news will be music to your ears. However, as the book isn’t out yet and we have no release date, it may be a while until we get the next instalment.

We’ve loved the BBC show, but felt that each story should have been told in more episodes. It felt like it was all over so quickly, and we have to fill our Strike obsession somewhere, especially given that we have to wait so long for the next novel! Turning the lengthy novels into a show just two hours long means we’ve lost a lot of the back story, Strike’s history and details we suspect may become important towards the end of the series. It’s a good job we love the books so much so we’re not missing any information.

We don’t want to put too much pressure on Jo, she must be one of the busiest writers in the world right now with Strike, the Fantastic Beasts series and of course her prolific tweeting too, but we do hope for a release date for Lethal White soon! The author has tweeted that she’s ‘nearly’ finished, so here’s hoping for some more information very soon.
