The Netflix series which follows the life of Piper Chapman and the other prisoners at Lichfield Prison is based on the memoir of the same name, but fans of the memoir and the show will be aware that the show has gone ‘off page’, meaning it’s no longer true to the memoir.

The fantasy thriller is set in the UK where dry land is scarce and teenagers must pass a exam or be sent to the disease-ridden wetlands, but the system is skewed to favour children from wealthy families who can afford information nodes, impregnated into the backs of their necks.

Lily James has appeared in War and Peace, Cinderella, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, Pride & Prejudice and Zombies and Armie Hammer in The Social Network and Call Me By Your Name.
Jane Goldman (Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, Stardust, The Woman in Black) wrote the screenplay which will be directed by Ben Wheatley.
