The Witches by Roald Dahl may be returning to our screens

Roald Dahl may have left this mortal realm years ago but his influence continues!

Anyone who was a child in the 1990s will remember the absolute horror that was the movie version of Roald Dahl’s The Witches. Although thoroughly entertaining, the film pretty much scarred any and all small children who saw it. Anjelica Huston played the Grand High witch so well that I am still not sure she isn’t really a witch…

There are currently talks between Warner Bros and Robert Zemeckis (Back To The Future trilogy) to bring a long-overdue remake to our screens! Although not officially confirmed yet, keep your eyes open for more news as we report it.

Roald Dahl reportedly hated the 1990 film version of his book, and felt it sugar-coated the story and the ending. It has been said that Robert Zemeckis is determined to be true to the orginial story.

Fingers crossed he does a great job- one that would have made Roald Dahl proud.
