Laura Ingalls Wilder, author of The Little House on the Prairie books was born on 6th February 1867. Her novels which portrayed an almost idyllic tale of pioneering life as it was in the late 19th century have remained in print since their initial publication date and have been made into a television series which was hugely popular during the late 20th century.
