By February 5, 2016August 1st, 2017Authors, Quotations

Born on February 5th 1914 William Seward Burroughs II was an American novelist, short story writer, satirist, essayist, painter, and spoken word performer. With a life that reads like a Hollywood Epic it is no wonder that William was a font of wonderful quotes and today we have collected together some of the best.

“Your mind will answer most questions if you learn to relax and wait for the answer.”

“Thou shalt not be such a shit, you don’t know you are one.”

“Is Control controlled by its need to control? Answer: yes.”

“I prefer cats to people, for the most part. Most people aren’t cute, & if they are cute they rapidly outgrow it”

“Sometimes paranoia’s just having all the facts.”

“I think anybody incapable of changing his mind is crazy.”

“Most people don’t notice what’s going on around them. That’s my principal message to writers: for God’s sake, keep your eyes open.”

“Be just and if you can’t be just, be arbitrary.”

Although Burroughs was an amazing author and his books were works of genius, not forgetting of course that anyone who loves cats is automatically my kind of person; I’m glad I never knew him in the real world.
