“A unique ‘Scandinavian noir’ tone that focuses on realistic characters, situations and dark morally complex moods.”

NO MAJOR SPOILERS

Hot on the heels of a spate of great psychological thrillers written by female authors is Helene Fermont’s We Never Said Goodbye.

I was lucky enough to receive an advance reading copy of this book and it’s a decent read.

The book begins when Louise is dumped by her husband Mike on their twentieth wedding anniversary and must pick up the pieces of her life. However as time passes, all isn’t quite as it seems and this twisty turny thriller will keep you turning pages to the last.

Forced to make increasingly crazy choices, Louise finds herself in peril, which means this easy read novel will keep you on the edge of your seat. The language is great and the novel itself is written in that easy read, page turning style.

I felt some of the dialogue between characters could have been a little stronger, it didn’t quite gel right for me, but that didn’t spoil my enjoyment of this great novel.
