This is the author’s fourth book in the series featuring DI Jackman and DS Evans. Solving murders is this duo’s specialty but this mystery hits closer to home involving Jackman’s family and at first appears to be an open and shut case of suicide.
Jackman’s elder brother seems to have the perfect life… home, wife and two young boys so when his sister-in-law jumps into the river and drowns their lives are turned upside down. When other deaths seem to have similarities, they must delve into the past if they have any chance of solving them.
Jackman realizes no one, not even his brother knows anything about the past of the woman he married which adds to the drama.
Ellis creates two completely different characters in her detectives so they represent not only different sexes but can look at evidence from different perspectives. Plenty of twists, turns and intense moments which holds the readers attention. Highly recommend and look forward to more books in the future.
