The Big Comfy Bookshop does exactly what it says on the tin and then some. Owned and run by Michael who in his own words is ‘usually the man both behind the scenes and up front compering. If I’m not in the shop you can usually find me with my head buried in a book or sleeping while standing up. Or both.‘ The Big Comfy Bookshop is not only a place where you can buy yourselves a whole armload of literature but you can also splat in one of their famous comfy seats and enjoy a coffee and cake made by Ali or perhaps indulge in a glass of wine as the shop is licensed to sell alcohol.
With events galore including music nights and a folk club this is a real gem of a book shop and well worth a visit if you are in the area. Just let your next of kin know you may be a while.
