With its white exterior, we don’t know what’s best about Black Dog Books, the incredible range of topics, or the black dog herself, ready to meet you as you enter the bookstore. While this bookstore is small, it is still extremely well organised, with comfy chairs near a roaring fireplace tempting you to get lost in a book; this is the perfect thing to do on a rainy afternoon, and once the rain has stopped you can browse the other lovely small businesses located on Main Street.

The staff are very friendly and reliable, and are always willing to help during opening hours to assist you with all your needs, however difficult they may be – for any hard to find books, they offer a special book search service. In addition, there is a book repairs service, for any special books that need fixing up. Their stock ranges from dog books (of course) to gardening, from architecture to domestic arts, as well as cookbooks, science books, books about Indiana, humorous books, and children’s books – this is just a short list exampling the reems of topics they sell.
