“A grand local old building in Devizes houses this beautiful independent book shop.”

Devizes Books - Devizes, Wiltshire

Inside a grand looking, old building; is the town of Devizes, local, independent bookshop. The main area is expansive and filled with a range of different books. One wall is home to the A-Z of fiction books. The rest of the shelves and tables in the shop are filled with; bestsellers and non-fiction titles in genres such as history, cookery and gardening.

The best part of this shop in my opinion, is the small room at the back which holds the children’s books. A wonderfully decorated area, with cardboard trees sprouting from the wall to create a magical forest impression. Meanwhile, editions of the popular children’s book, Where’s Wally can be found on a red and white carrousel adorned with cut outs of the characters stood around the layers. Additionally the gutter-like bookshelves are cleverly designed to allow children to see the covers of all the books available to them. Such a brilliantly decked out room could inspire many young readers.

A relatively large independent shop, which runs events for local book lovers, it is clear the shop is currently thriving in the community.
