Situated in a small strip mall outside of North Carolina’s Capital City, Quail Ridge draws you in, not only for their large children’s selection, audio/visual area, but for the number of prolific authors who come there to share their stories. It was here that I first met Chris Bohjalian, Sarah Addison Allen, Kristin Hannah, James Dean, Adam Rubin, James McPherson…the list goes on and on. And it was here, that the local quirky bookstore became more than just a “place to visit because I couldn’t find a Barnes and Noble.” Their staff picks are always immense and well worth the look, plus their “readers club” offers frequent visitors the opportunity to save on their purchases. Plus, they are more than just friendly, once when I couldn’t make it to the Chris Van Allsberg storytime/signing, they had the books signed for my son and held until I could get there to pick them up.
