6 Houses with Libraries That You’ll Want to Buy

By March 13, 2016Libraries

I don’t know about you but I have always dreamed of owning a property that is big enough to house its own library. I’m a lover of the more traditional styles when it comes to libraries and home decor in general actually, so of course when I discovered these rather gorgeous properties for sale I was in absolute heaven.

Have a nosey through these 6 houses with libraries that you’ll want to buy and start saving those pennies.

For a mere £2.35 million you could fill the shelves of this gorgeously appointed library that is housed within a seven bedroomed grade II listed property that has its own lake and is situated in grounds spreading over 27 acres. Situated in Eyton-upon-the-Weald Moors, Shropshire if you fancy putting a bid in.

Ohh what about this gorgeous library nook in Moulins France? The house that it is in dates back to the Napoleon III era and at only £432,500 is an absolute snip, especially when you realise you get four bedrooms, a study, a dining room, living room and a boudoir plus an acre of walled garden for your money.

Oh be still my beating heart; not only does this 10 bedroom property in Nunspeet, Netherlands come with two self contained apartments in a converted Coach House, English gardens and paddocks, equestrian building and a lake! It also has this utterly divine library.  Anyone have a spare  £12.25 million?

Six bedrooms, nine bathrooms, an indoor basketball court, an infinity pool, a spa, a billiards room and tennis courts. Not enough for you? Well how about the fact that this gorgeous New York period style home has a two storey library! This stunning property is a snip at £16.65 million.

This little gem is in a beautiful part of the Tramuntana mountain range close to a place called Pollensa, Majorca Spain. A paltry £10.5 million will buy you ten bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a huge pool, and a separate residence for your guests, or perhaps some essential staff and this delectable library room. Just imagine selecting a book from these beautiful shelves and then sitting out on the terrace to relax in the Spanish sunshine.

I do believe I have saved the best for last. The fact that this library is housed in a stunning building with a 14th century tower that just cries out for its very own distressed (or just busy reading) damsel is just an added bonus, as are the eight bedrooms, the six acres of land which includes a cottage, idea for housing your staff, or your mum. Belsay Northumberland is where you’ll find this simply perfect split level library for a very reasonable £3.5 million.

Sigh, I am so in love with all of these houses and would be happy living in any of them. No matter, home is where my books are and right now home is pretty much perfect.
