Stan Lee’s first novel for adults is released posthumously

Marvel legend Stan Lee, who died in November 2018, had written a novel for adults but died before it was released.

The novel, Stan Lee’s Alliances: A Trick of Light, is the first novel to be released in connection with the Marvel creator’s new Alliances universe. The publisher’s description reads:

“A Trick of Light is a superhero origin story about the unlikely friendship between Cameron, a gifted young man struggling with newfound fame after a freak accident gives him the ability to manipulate technology with his mind, and Nia, a hacker and coding genius with a mysterious past,”

“The two must combine their powers to fight the dangerous physical and online forces threatening to wipe out the human race.”

A Trick of Light, co-written by Lee and Kat Rosenfield, will be published on 17 September, 2019 by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.

Stan Lee’s introduction in the book says:

“Our yarn is filled with tantalizing technologies that will make you hunger for tomorrow, while our characters strive to find the answers today. They’ll ask the questions we all have about love, friendship, acceptance, and the search for a higher purpose.”

The audiobook version of the novel, narrated by Grown-ish star Yara Shahidi, will come out on 27 June.
