5 Brilliant New Books to Curl up with this Autumn

By November 5, 2017New Releases

The weather may be turning chilly but that means more time to curl up and read, right? Thankfully there are also some brilliant new books available to buy or loan this November and today we’re recommending five for you.

The last quarter of the year is a great time for new releases and so there really are hundreds of new releases to choose from. We’ve dwindled that down to just five, and we hope to offer something for everyone!

Have you already read one of these? Send us a review:

Sticky Fingers – Joe Hagan

Sticky Fingers: The Life and Times of James Wenner and Rolling Stone Magazine by Joe Hagan is a fascinating, nonfiction story of the founder of Rolling Stone Magazine, which not only includes all the excesses and wild stories you might imagine, but is also a fascinating insight into the last five decades of American history.

Long Way Down – Jason Reynolds

Released last month, Long Way Down has been longlisted for the National Book Awards 2017 and is a heart stopping novel that takes place in a single minute, the amount of time a young boy has to decide whether or not to take the ultimate revenge on the man who murdered his brother.

In the Midst of Winter – Isabel Allende

Fans of Allende will be thrilled to hear she has a brand new book out. In the Midst of Winter starts with a fateful fender bender, but follows themes of undocumented immigrants, and a fair dollop of love too!

Prairie Fires – Caroline Fraser

If you loved the Little House Series then you’ll want to order Prairie Fires: The American Dreams of Laura Ingalls Wilder on pre-order. It isn’t out until November 21st but separates the warm and fuzzy biographical tales in the Little House Series, and the real Laura Ingalls Wilder.

The City of Brass – S. A. Chakraborty

And we finish with another fiction, the first in what looks like it’s going to be a fascinating sci-fi trilogy. The fate of a Middle Eastern Kingdom is at the mercy of a scam artist with some special gifts, will all end well? You’ll probably have to wait until the end of book three for the answer to that.
