It’s quite a month for new releases this May with some long anticipated novels hitting the shelves. We try every month to bring you the best of the new releases, but upon looking through this month’s lists, it’s fantasy that sticks out. So with that in mind, we’re concentrating on the YA fantasy reads released this May, and we have what we consider to be five of the best!
If you love the fantasy genre then there’s plenty to get your teeth stuck into, and some great new releases from some of our favourite authors too.
The Hidden Oracle – Rick Riordan
Released 3rd May
If you’re a big fan of Rick Riordan then this is the start of a new series. The Hidden Oracle will be book 1 in the Trials of Apollo series, and it’s more from the Gods!
A Court of Mist and Fury – Sarah J. Maas
Released 3rd May
If you’re waiting for book two in the A Court of Thorns and Roses series, then it’s here and ready for you to delve back into the rich fantasy world created by Maas!
The Last Star – Rick Yancey
Released 24th May
Many of our Reading Addicts have been engrossed in the 5th Wave trilogy this year, and now it’s time for the final instalment as The Last Star is released.
The Crown – Kiera Cass
Released 3rd May
It’s a month for series books, and it’s another series here as the fifth book in The Selection series is released on 3rd May.
The Crown’s Game – Evelyn Skye
Released 17th May
And if you don’t mind adding another series to your unread pile, then this month also sees the release of The Crown’s Game, which will be the first book in a brand new fantasy series set around Russia and the Ottoman Empire.
There should be plenty there to add to your TBR pile, and whether you’re completing a series, or starting a new one, we hope you have fun reading this May!
