Alex Jones Reportedly Working on a Book That Promises to “Open Your Mind”

Right-wing American radio show host and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones is reportedly working on a book with The Game’s author, Neil Strauss, in order to distil his knowledge, philosophies, and mission to uncover conspiracies. As CNN reports, Jones has apparently been pitching the book to US publishers with the promise that it will “open your mind in ways you can’t expect … like the moment you first discovered sex or the internet or quantum physics”.

Jones has written a 27-page proposal for the book with author Neil Strauss and its aim will be to inform readers about “the front lines of the war for your mind.” He promises it will be “a classic that will be … around for generations” and that, if you read it, you “will never look at your life or your world the same way again.” It certainly looks like Jones has big plans for his book.

Strauss’s agent has been sending the proposal to US publishers, though the agency, United Talent Agency, has since clarified that the individual “made the initial outreach to publishers without having consulted the appropriate people internally.”

Alex Jones has made a name for himself with his website Infowars, which has been criticised by many for promoting fake news and conspiracy theories. Jones himself has attracted plenty of controversy, particularity when he claimed the Sandy Hook Massacre was a hoax and that 9/11 was an inside job. Jones seems to have a close relationship with Donald Trump, who once told Jones “Your reputation is amazing.

Neil Strauss is best known for his book The Game, which explores the world of pick-up artists and gives tips on seducing women that includes feigning interest in order to appear more desirable.

Jones’s proposal reads: “There is a war for your mind. A war to make you docile. A war to make you a sheep. A war to take away your initiative, your freedom, and your control over your own life.” It continues: “Besides the months of promotion that I’m looking forward to doing, I’m writing this book for the long road. I am putting a lot of work into it, distilling my knowledge, philosophy, and mission into some 120,000 words. And it’s my hope that this book outlasts me.”

Industry insiders have reportedly told CNN that publishers may be hesitant to take on Jones’s book due to his controversial statements and the backlash that a publisher might receive. The popular Canadian author Linwood Barclay posted a Tweet saying: “Every author I know must be thinking, ‘Please, please, please don’t let it be my publisher.’”

It remains to be seen whether or not Jones’s book will be picked up by a publisher but there’s no doubt that a book of this nature would certainly have an audience. Time will tell whether the book lives up to its bold claims.
