Anthony Bourdain Biography to be Published Next Year

By June 30, 2018New Releases

It has been three weeks since chef, author, writer, and travel documentarian Anthony Bourdain tragically took his own life, and the world is still keenly feeling the loss of a man who brought happiness, culture, and great food to those who followed his work. Bourdain’s influence won’t soon be forgotten, especially now that a biography is set to be published next year.

The biography is being described as “an authorized portrait of the writer, veteran chef and television traveller, built from stories shared by those who knew him best,” and, according to a Tweet from cookbook author Paula Forbes, will be published by Ecco in the Autumn of next year. Bourdain’s long serving assistant Laurie Woolever, also co-wrote his last book Appetites, will edit the book.

“After working with and collaborating with Tony since 2004, I’m honoured to now be working with his estate, and talking to the people who knew him best, in order to share the story of a life that influenced so many people, in so many ways, all across the globe,” said Woolever.

Bourdain’s death by suicide came as a great shock to the world and prompted a flood of tribute from the likes of Barack Obama, Gordon Ramsay, Thomas Keller, and even President Trump. No doubt Bourdain’s memory will live on through his work and the people he touched, but it’s difficult to accept he’s gone.
