What Date is Lethal White Released; Next Cormoran Strike Novel

By August 2, 2017New Releases, News

There’s been big news from the J.K Rowling camp in recent months with the success of Fantastic Beasts, new Harry Potter coffee table books, the twentieth anniversary of the release of the first Harry Potter book, and of course her and Harry’s birthday this week. Also in the news this week is this week’s literary charts, giving the author her 79th number 1 with the publication of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in paperback.

What we haven’t heard so much about this year is the author’s other incarnation, Robert Galbraith. The author uses the pseudonym to write the Cormoran Strike mysteries, a series following the life of the private detective and the crimes he solves.

So far the books have been released about one every eighteen months, but with Career of Evil out on 21st April 2016 (finished by me by 22nd April 2016) it feels like we’ve been waiting a long time! Earlier this year the author played a game on her Twitter page, allowing followers to guess the name of the novel. Here we learned that the fourth book in the Cormoran Strike series would be called Lethal White.

Now we know Jo has been busy, both with the Harry Potter franchise, and with slaying trolls on Twitter but we’re really keen for the next book! I’ve reached out to her on Twitter today but have so far got no response, and there’s still no official publishing date for the new novel, nor any indication as to the plot.

As dedicated fans we’ll wait patiently and it’ll soon arrive, but if you simply cannot wait then we do have at least some positive news about our favourite limping detective. A little while ago we brought you the news that the Cormoran Strike series was to be adapted for television and we now have more news on that front. Like the fourth novel, we don’t have a release date for the BBC series, but filming has now finished, the Cuckoo’s Calling will be played out as three one hour episodes and is expected to air before the year is out!

Squee!

If you’re only catching up with the whole J.K Rowling is Robert Galbraith thing, we promise it’s all true and you can check out the three books released so far below. The fourth is coming, and Rowling has indicated the entire series may run to as many as nine books.
