Jessica Ennis-Hill Signs a Seven Book Deal

By November 23, 2016New Releases

It has only been a few short weeks since Olympic and World Champion Heptathlete Jessica Ennis Hill announced her retirement from the multi disciplined sport that has moulded her life until now and it appears she has already got a new career lined up.

So what is she going to be, a television pundit? A coach? No of course not, this is a literary site so it stands to reason that the World Book Day Ambassador is planning something bookish and indeed that is the case as news comes that Jessica Ennis Hill signs a seven book deal with publishers Hodder Children’s Books.

Co writing the series with children’s author Elen Caldecott Jessica’s books follow the magical adventures of Evie after she receives a gift from her grandma Iris in Jamaica, a beautiful bracelet. Evie soon discovers that the bracelet is not just a pretty trinket but it also shows Evie that there is magic everywhere, she just has to work out how to use it.

Jessica spoke about how writing the series brought back many wonderful childhood memories saying “I have so many great memories of being a little girl. My friends and I spent lots of time exploring and having adventures where my imagination used to run riot. It has been so much fun working with Elen to go back to that world of stories and imagination and share it with readers. I very much hope that the books will inspire and encourage them to look for the magic in everyday life.”

With the first of the seven books The Silver Unicorn being released on March 9th 2017, three further books are due out in 2017 and then the final three throughout 2018 these books look like a perfect addition for all 6-8 year old’s book shelves. Unfortunately we don’t have a pre-order available outside the UK at present but rest assured, as soon as there is a pre-order we will let you know.
