Jilted Bride Finds Herself: And Her Childhood Dream of Becoming an Author

By January 18, 2016New Releases

I think this is my favourite story of the year so far! Katy Collins was a PR worker at Manchester Airport, and she was getting married, but her future husband got cold feet. Understandably the rejection left her feeling confused and disillusioned but instead of taking to her bed and licking her wounds, she sold her car and everything she couldn’t fit in a large rucksack and jetted off to Thailand alone!

Ms Collins has now travelled all around South-East Asia, and India and while doing so has kept a travel blog Not Wed or Dead (great name), and this inspired her to start documenting her adventure more and more. As a child she had held aspirations to become an author, and after backpacking around South America, teaching in France, and well and truly finding herself, she’s now been offered a three book deal!

The traveller was living in France when the editor called her, on what would have been her third wedding anniversary, to offer her the deal and the first novel in The Lonely Hearts Travel Club Series, Destination Thailand is available for pre-order now.

This isn’t an Eat, Pray Love style book, the three books are light hearted romantic comedy, and the first will be available on January 21st.

Seems like Ms Collins found herself and a whole lot more besides.
