By September 6, 2018New Releases, Television

Actress Jodie Whittaker has been cast as the thirteenth Doctor in the long running sci-fi series Doctor Who. Not only is this the first time the Time Lord has regenerated into a woman, but it’s also the first time the Doctor has been a Little Miss rather than a Mr. Man.

As The Guardian reports, Penguin Random House has announced that Dr. Thirteenth will join its line up of books which sees the world of Mr. Men, and now Little Miss, meet the world of Doctor Who. As with previous Dr. Who-themed crossovers, the upcoming book will be written and illustrated by Adam Hargreaves, the son of Roger Hargreaves. When Adam was a boy, he asked his father what a tickle looks like, and thus the Mr. Men were born.

The upcoming book is available to pre-order now and is set to be released on 6 November and a limited edition hardback version will also be on sale. The preview pages released also tease three friends the thirteenth Doctor will encounter over her first series. The story will focus on the Doctor attending her friend’s birthday which turns into an adventure.

It has been confirmed by the BBC that Jodie Whittaker’s first season on Doctor Who will begin on 7 October. Get your Sonic Screwdrivers ready!
