Nobel Peace Prize Winner to Publish “The Power of Women”

In what looks like it may be one of the big releases of 2021, Flatiron books has confirmed the World English Rights to Dr. Denis Mukwege’s arresting call to action: “The Power of Women” later this year.

Nobel Peace Prize winner Dr. Denis Mukwege is a gynaecologist and surgeon, human rights activist and is a wartime leader on wartime sexual violence. In this upcoming release he will speak of the extraordinary women who have shaped him, and to illustrate how corruption, violence and rape as a weapon of war are inextricably linked, and how the global community has a responsibility to take action and demand accountability.

Rape and sexual violence during wartime is an often overlooked tactic of war, regularly dismissed as a civilian side effect but one that has one of the most devastating impacts on families, and lives after the guns have stopped.
