Obama and Biden Star as Crime Fighting Detectives in a New Mystery Novel

It’s no secret that the world of politics can be an extremely tough place, and even those on the same side can be at each other’s throats. However, during Obama’s eight years as Commander-in-Chief, it became quite apparent that he and his Vice President, Joe Biden, were genuinely good friends.

The internet came to embrace Obama and Biden’s bromance and there are many amusing posts showcasing the enduring friendship the two leaders share. If you’re a fan of the two politicians then you’ll be pleased to learn that a new crime book is set to be released, which sees Obama and Biden teaming up to fight crime and solve mysteries.

The novel has been penned by satirist Andrew Shaffer and is called Hope Never Dies. The book will be the first instalment in a four-part series which sees Obama and Biden becoming somewhat akin to the famous crime fighting duo Sherlock Holmes and his faithful friend Dr. Watson. In the first novel, Obama and Biden work together to solve the murder of Biden’s favorite Amtrak conductor.

It could be argued the book is yet another satirical swipe at the current political climate, but Shaffer insists this isn’t just a cheap joke. “It’s not a parody of action movies or thrillers, and it’s not a satire of their politics. It’s just a mystery novel starring these two well known characters, who just happen to be in the public domain,” he told The New York Times.
