Ransom Riggs Returns with Tales of the Peculiar

Miss Peregrine Author to make Book within a Book a Reality

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, and the follow up novels Hollow City and Library of Souls have been the hot books of our reading group for months with many of us sucked into this fantastical world. The series, created by Ransom Riggs is to be made into a movie, adapted by Tim Burton and now the author has also confirmed that he is releasing Tales of the Peculiar, a book of fairytales from within the Miss Peregrine universe.

Set on an island off the coast of Wales and illustrated using vintage photographs found by the author, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children has sold more than five million copies. For those who have invested in the series, you will know that Tales of the Peculiar is a crucial plot element in Hollow City as the book of fairytales is one of the few items the children choose to save due to events in the book. I’m trying hard to stay away from spoilers here, but the book is full of stories, and encoded with secrets and codes.

Now Ransom Riggs has confirmed that the book from within a book is to be released, the book of fairytales from within the Miss Peregrine’s universe. It promises to be as weird and wonderful as the first three books, and Riggs himself said he was incredible excited about sitting down to write it. Tales of the Peculiar will be released on September 3rd 2016 and is available for pre-order now.
