Virginia Woolf’s Great Niece to Publish Debut Novel

By March 15, 2018New Releases

If talent runs in families then we have a lot to get excited about this summer as Emma Woolf, great niece to Virginia is to release her debut novel in July. It’s not Emma’s first book, she’s already written several nonfiction works but it will be her first novel.

The story, England’s Lane explores the timeless themes of love, loss and betrayal, looking at the cost of marital infidelity and the challenges of single motherhood in what is shaping up to be one of the best-selling books of the summer.

Woolf says that England’s Lane is the novel she’s been wanting to write for more than a decade, and added that she hoped it wouldn’t leave her great aunt ‘turning in her grave’.

There’s no doubt that Emma is influenced by the legacy of her aunt, it would be impossible not to feel that literary shadow. Emma’s own father is a publisher, her mother a writer and she grew up in a house full of books.

While this will be Emma Woolf’s first novel, she has previously written six nonfiction books about eating disorders and well-being. Woolf is also one of the presenters on Channel 4’s Supersize Vs Superskinny and is a journaist and former columnist for The Times.

England’s Lane will be published in July, pre-orders are not yet available but are expected to be opened in the coming months.
