A host of celebrities read children’s stories at UK festival

Port Eliot Estate in Cornwall plays host every year to various stars who come to talk about literature, theatre, or to read excerpts of their own books.

The Port Eliot festival is a family-friendly event held in the grounds of a gorgeous manor house- one of the longest continually inhabited residence in the UK. Every year Port Eliot is opened to the public for a fun-filled weekend of music, theatre, storytelling, and food!

Big name stars attend the festival to join the fun, chat about art and literature, or promote their own work- including Kate Winslet, Dawn French, Hollie McNish, and Noel Fielding, who have all been involved over the years.

Last year, actors Kate Winslet and Teri Hatcher were tasked with sending the kiddies off to sleep with bedtime tales; this year comedian Russell Brand will be reading bedtime stories to the festival goers, along with model Daisy Lowe.

Before bedtime stories in Wilding Wood, various well-known and new authors read excerpts from their own books and chat with festival goers about their favourite novels.

In the past Robert Webb, Dominic West, and Kate Winslet have all read stories and talked about their work- giving us an insight into their journey and inspirations.
