In June, BookTrust is running an event called Pyjamarama which aims to inspire a love of reading in children by encouraging them (and their parents, teachers and other adults) to wear pyjamas for the day and donate £1 to support BookTrust.

Members of staff from schools and nurseries across the UK can sign their organisation up and receive a free Pyjamarama fundraising pack. The pack which can be found here, includes: posters, stickers, a booklet of tips and ideas for the event, themed activity sheets tailored for every age group, balloons “to brighten up classrooms and story corners,” and a paying-in slip and pre-paid envelope for donations.

The £1 will help BookTrust continue their work as a charity to help more children gain access to books and the joy and happiness that comes with reading; you can find out more about the BookTrust and the work they do here.

So, on 7th of June why not roll out of bed in your spotted pyjamas like Matilda’s and Tracy Beaker’s, your striped pyjamas like Horrid Henry’s, or even a Gruffalo onesie, and head to school or work to inspire a new generation of readers?
