Good Omens Adaptation Will Premiere on Amazon Prime

By January 21, 2017News, Television

Last week we brought you the news that Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s collaboration Good Omens is to be adapted for a television audience. The series has been written entirely by Neil Gaiman and is to be co-produced by the BBC, leaving many hoping this would be premiered on one of the broadcasting corporation’s channels.

However today’s news is that the show will premiere on Amazon Prime, which will open it up to a world audience at least. UK television viewers won’t have to worry too much as each episode will be shown on the BBC shortly after the premiere.

The studios officially announced yesterday that the adaptation is to definitely go ahead and production will start right away. Good Omens will premiere on Amazon prime in 2018, so viewers have a while to wait but that does mean there’s chance to read the book if you haven’t already, before it airs.

Originally published in 1990 Good Omens is the only collaboration between the late Sir Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman and is still popular today with fans of both authors. The book is a comedy about the End of Times and the birth of the son of Satan and is incredibly funny and readable.

Hopefully with Neil writing the script this will be one television adaptation that will live up to the book lovers’ expectation, only time will tell but we cannot wait!
