Huge literary mural in the Netherlands is dedicated to residents

By April 1, 2019Arty, News

A huge literary mural has transformed the side of a residential building in the Netherlands into a colourful bookshelf.

Dutch artist JanIsDeMan and his fellow creative Deef Feed came together to inject some colour into Jan’s hometown of Utrecht.

The project began with Jan asking residents of the building to name their favourite books so he could personally dedicate the mural to each of them. They offered an array of titles from seven different languages, and now the literary mural displays them proudly.

Over 40 books have been painted across the enormous wall, bringing some much needed colour to the neighbourhood, including The Subtle Art of Not Giving A Fuck by Mark Manson, and Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harai.
