The Lord of the Rings Cast Reunites, Hijinks Ensue

By February 1, 2017News

Those of you who wish you could holiday in Middle-Earth will no doubt have enjoyed the excellent Lord of the Rings films adapted by Peter Jackson from J.R.R. Tolkien’s classic fantasy books.

It has been over fifteen years since the first film was released but it looks like the cast are still as tight as ever and always ready to stand against any Orcs that may be nearby.

Dominic Monaghan, who played the Hobbit Merry, uploaded photos of he and several other cast mates from the fellowship striking a pose as they met together for the first time in years. The photos feature Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn), Orlando Bloom (Legolas), Elijah Wood (Frodo), and Billy Boyd (Pippin).

The five actors even took to brandishing cutlery in order to recreate the scene from The Fellowship of the Ring where the characters prepare for an attack from a group of Orcs in the Mines of Moria.

Each cast member has since gone on to have big careers. The Oscar nominations were recently announced and Viggo Mortensen is nominated for his role in the film Captain Fantastic. Orlando Bloom has been in several big films such as Pirates of the Caribbean and the more recent adaptations of The Hobbit. Dominic Monaghan went on to star in the hit TV series LOST, Elijah Wood has starred in the hit American adaptation of Wilfred, and Billy Boyd has become an accomplished musician. What we wouldn’t give to have been there!
