Meghan Markle Celebrates Archie’s First Birthday with Charity Book Reading

Meghan Markle and Harry celebrated their son’s first birthday with an adorable reading of the 2009 picture book Duck! Rabbit! By Amy Krouse Rosenthal and illustrated by Tom Lichtenheld shared on Instagram. The sweet home video shows baby Archie, now one years-old, wiggling enthusiastically and wanting to turn the pages as his mother Meghan Markle reads him Duck! Rabbit! While, father Harry who filmed the video can also be heard laughing and quacking in the background.

The video reading is not only a delightfully joyful watch but it was also shared for more than just Archie’s first birthday. The recording was shared to Instagram by the charity, Save the Children as part of their appeal to raise money for vulnerable families who are struggling the most during this current coronavirus pandemic.

“As the world grapples with the coronavirus pandemic, children’s lives are being turned upside down. By donating to Save with Stories, you can support the most vulnerable families in the UK and around the world by helping to provide early learning packs, supermarket vouchers, essential household items and virus protection,” wrote Save the Children in their Instagram post.

This fundraising campaign from Save the Children, entitled Save With Stories, has also seen other prominent names including; Helen Mirren, Julie Walters, Nicholas Hoult, Jude Law, and Eddie Redmayne reading books to their own children.

To donate to the campaign and support families hardest hit by the pandemic, you can go to the Save the Children website, or you can text STORIES to 70008 to give a one-off donation of £5. (Note: You can only donate via text from a UK mobile and you’ll be billed £5 plus standard rate text message.)
