NBA star LeBron James has announced the release of his second book due to appear in bookstores in August 2021.
The 36-year-old new author signed a deal with HarperCollins Children’s Books in 2020 and released his first book, the inspiring and vibrant I Promise, which became a New York Times bestseller.
This year James is releasing a chapter book titled We Are Family, a story of five diverse friends with varied dreams and hopes who work together to “save their basketball season and prove that sometimes getting a chance is all it takes to succeed.”

LeBron James spoke to journalists about the new release:
“Everyone has a story and unique set of challenges they’re going through that we don’t hear about.
“We Are Family’ shows how an unlikely group of kids comes together to chase their dreams, despite having the odds stacked against them.”
He added: “It’s an important story of family, purpose and perseverance in the face of adversity that I hope inspires everyone who reads it to never stop dreaming and believing in what they’re capable of.”
