Netflix to Produce ‘the Witcher’ Tie-In Animated Film

By January 27, 2020Adaptations, News

Netflix recently released the first season of its live-action adaptation of The Witcher books by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, and so far it has gone down pretty well with viewers. Starring Henry Cavil as Geralt of Rivia, a grizzled monster hunter, The Witcher is set in a fantasy land where the lines between good and evil are often hard to distinguish. If you just can’t wait until the next season, you’ll be pleased to learn that Netflix will tide fans over with an animated film called The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf.

Even before Netfilx confirmed a live-action series was on its way, rumours had been abound that it was working to produce an animated Witcher film, and now those rumours have finally been confirmed. The film is currently set to air between the first and second season of The Witcher, so you won’t have to wait too long until your next outing with Geralt.

As the Tweet says, Nightmare of the Wolf is written by Beau DeMayo, who worked on the first season and penned the third episode, called Betrayer Moon. So far details on the upcoming film are scarce, but we’ll no doubt hear more about it sooner rather than later.
