Artemis Fowl is an eight book series of young adult science-fiction fantasy novels by Eoin Colfer, featuring the criminal mastermind Artemis Fowl II. The book series is described by the author as ‘Die Hard with fairies’.

The novels follow a 12-year old prodigy dedicated to criminal pursuits, and his escapades as the frontman of his family business. The tales follow the ‘good vs evil’ trope, but played with in a light-hearted manner.

A movie adaptation has been in the works since 2016, with fans of the playful and fast-paced novels eager to see what it’s like on the big screen. The film will be directed by Kenneth Branagh, and is set to star Ferdia Shaw as Artemis, Lara McDonnell as Holly, and Nonso Anozie as Domovoi Butler, among others!
