20 Children’s Books You Love to Read Over and Over

For our latest poll we were looking for your favourite rereads, the books you just love to read over and over and as many you gave two answers, we tallied two lots of results. When asked, lots of you gave us both the children’s or YA book you love to read over and over, and the adult one.

You can check the adult list here, but for today we have the 20 children’s books that you love to read over and over, and the winner is no surprise to me at all!

Harry Potter Series – J. K Rowling

I have to admit to having read this upwards of thirty times myself, and I was an adult when the first one came out so I’m not at all surprised to find it in the top spot here, the runaway winner of the books you love to read over and over.

The Little House Series – Laura Ingalls Wilder

A firm favourite, particularly with readers from the USA (I’ve never read these but we got the repeats on BBC on a Sunday afternoon), it’s the Little House Series that has remained a favourite with you through the years.

Famous Five Series – Enid Blyton

I think this series was probably my own most reread series as a child and I lived my childhood dreams vicariously through imaginary Famous Five-esque adventures and insisted my friends call me George. Clearly many of you agreed as it makes our top ten.

Black Beauty – Anna Sewell

I’ve written this entire list nodding my head. I suspect every little girl at some point has wished she could have her own Black Beauty and this is a beautiful read.

The little girl who loved books, Matilda. What’s not to love? I can see how any book living child would relate to this story over and over.
