The final figures for 2015 are in and a list of the top selling titles for 2015 has been published; it’s an eclectic one as always but one not quite so heavily dominated by children’s or YA authors as the 2014 list was.

Released on 18th June the story of Fifty Shades from the perspective of Christian Grey sold 1,075,206 copies.
Grandpa’s Great Escape – David Walliams
David Walliams‘ unique writing style continues to enchant young and old alike with this story about the special bond between a boy and his grandfather. Released on September 24th it sold 532,513 copies.
The Girl on the Train – Paula Hawkins
Third placed was our Cwts Club Book of the month for April, it was released on 15th Jan 2015 selling 477,887 copies.
Millie Marotta’s Animal Kingdom – Millie Marotta
Here’s a new genre, Millie Marotta’s Animal Kingdom is the best selling title in the adult colouring book section. Sold as a form of relaxation and self therapy this particular book was released on 14 Aug 2014 and sold 409,858 copies.

Mog’s Christmas Calamity – Judith Kerr
I am so very pleased to see this title so high up on the list of best sellers, a personal favourite of mine the clumsy cat, released on 12 Nov 2015 sold over 382,014 copies.
Elizabeth Is Missing – Emma Healey
A hauntingly poignant tale of mental illness, Emma Healey’s novel, released on January 1st of 2015 sold 368,786.
Go Set a Watchman – Harper Lee
The long awaited sequel to To Kill a Mockingbird sold 342,146 copies in the months after its release.
The Miniaturist – Jessie Burton
A magnificent story of love and obsession, betrayal and retribution, appearance and truth The Miniaturist sold 320,648 upon its release in Jan 2015.
Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Old School – Jeff Kinney
Another children’s title is in ninth spot. Released on 3 Nov 2015 this instalment of Wimpy Kid sold 313,640 copies.
Guinness World Records 2016
The perennial grandparents’ Christmas gift completes our top ten. Selling 309,900 copies it was released in September of 2015.
