A Scribbly Thank You from the Book Bus Project

By March 3, 2015The Book Bus

If you frequent our Facebook page, you may have noticed last week that we were sharing the charity page from Scribbelicious. Scribbly are one of our page friends on Facebook and last week they supported our Book Bus project. Thank you to everyone who made a purchase and got involved, we raised £150 towards the fund!

Scribbly make some beautiful literary inspired pieces, including jewellery and bookmarks and we absolutely adore their stuff. From pendants to earrings, bookmarks and keyrings they pretty much have it all covered. You can find Scribbelicious on Facebook here, and from there you’ll also see links to their website from the page.

What remains is for me to say a huge thank you to all of you. The Book Bus really appreciates your support and with the £100 we raised in the raffle at Christmas, the current balance of the fund is £250. My hope was to get the bus out on the road in the next few weeks now the warmer weather is arriving and start doing some of what we do. I really want to get out and visit a couple of bookshops in the area and get the Book Bus Trail started with some book giveaways.

So far I’ve topped up the fund with about £850 of my own cash to get the bus back on the road and working. However, unfortunately our great news about the fund today was also tempered with some bad news. Last week the alternator belt snapped on Addy, not an expensive repair, but a call from my mechanic today tells me that the head gasket has gone and he’s making very expensive noises. I can’t realistically add any more to the fund myself at the moment and this is an awful setback for the entire project especially given the change in my personal situation and I really don’t know what to do.

Unfortunately we’ve lost our Go Fund Me page due to the issues with the domain ownership and I can’t right now set another one up in the same name though I am working on this and the project certainly hasn’t vanished. I have though added a Paypal button to this post and ask if there’s any tiny amount you might be able to give to get the Book Bus going again it would be very much appreciated (I’ve fixed the payments to a small $2 donate). You can also help by just using our Amazon links around site, I’m using the profits to fund the project and it’s a way you can help without parting with any extra cash too.
