The Gruffalo is probably one of the best known children’s novels of recent years. Written by Julia Donaldson and accompanied by the gorgeous illustrations of Axel Scheffler The Gruffalo follows a little mouse as he takes a walk through the woods.
On his way he meets several woodland creatures who all think that Mouse would make the perfect snack, quick thinking Mouse makes up the most terrifying monster which has terrible tusks, and terrible claws, and terrible teeth in his terrible jaws. Of course the animals are scared away, but what will scare away the Gruffalo?
There were plenty of videos available for The Gruffalo and I listened to them all but this was the most beautifully read of them all, and I loved the fact that Pad made the video for his children; makes it a bit more special.
