Teaser Trailer Released for HBO’s ‘Sharp Objects’ TV Adaptation

By April 23, 2018 Adaptations, News, Video

First published in 2006, Sharp Objects is the first novel written by Gillian Flynn who has since shot to fame following the release of her most well known novel Gone Girl. Sharp Objects follows a newspaper journalist named Camille Preaker who returns to her hometown to cover a series of brutal murders. As the bodies begin to mount, Camille’s past comes back to haunt her and things get very creepy indeed.

It was announced in 2016 that HBO had begun developing an adaptation of the novel as an eight-episode mini series. The series is being produced by the same producer of the hit 2017 horror movie Get Out and will star Amy Adams in the role of Camille. The first teaser trailer has been released today by HBO and it certainly looks like it lives up to the unsettling nature of the novel.

Sharp Objects is set to air this Summer in July, try not to be too scared!

By | Adaptations, News | No Comments
Dracula is back!

Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss are best known for their work on the BBC’s Doctor Who and Sherlock respectively. After Moffat’s departure from the Doctor Who team, and Benedict Cumberbatch busily working with the Marvel universe, the two writers have had some time to work on new material.

They’ve chosen to dig up the old story of Dracula by Bram Stoker, and bring it to life in the form of a mini series with the help from the BBC and Netflix.

Set in Victorian Britain, this version will star Claes Bang (The Affair) as the undead hero Dracula: “the vampire who made evil sexy”, alongside Dolly Wells (Doll and Em), John Heffernan (The Crown), and Joanna Scanlan (Notes on a Scandal).

It will hit our screens this year, on the BBC in the UK and on Netflix internationally.

Keep an eye out for the trailer once filming commences!
