First published in 2006, Sharp Objects is the first novel written by Gillian Flynn who has since shot to fame following the release of her most well known novel Gone Girl. Sharp Objects follows a newspaper journalist named Camille Preaker who returns to her hometown to cover a series of brutal murders. As the bodies begin to mount, Camille’s past comes back to haunt her and things get very creepy indeed.
It was announced in 2016 that HBO had begun developing an adaptation of the novel as an eight-episode mini series. The series is being produced by the same producer of the hit 2017 horror movie Get Out and will star Amy Adams in the role of Camille. The first teaser trailer has been released today by HBO and it certainly looks like it lives up to the unsettling nature of the novel.
Sharp Objects is set to air this Summer in July, try not to be too scared!
Imagine my delight when only a couple of days after I had finished We Have Always Lived in the Castle, I saw a trailer for the film version, which is released this month, starring Taissa Farmiga, Alexandra Daddario, and Sebastian Stan . The Handmaid’s Tale has proven to be very popular in recent times, thanks in part to Hulu’s fantastic adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s 1985 novel. As has been proven time and time again- if something has entered pop culture then it is fair game for capitalism to sink its claws in.

Complete with white cloak and red bonnet, this “Brave Red Maiden” costume was just a bit much for even the kookiest Halloween fans (especially for the steep price of $65) and after a resounding ‘NOPE, THANKS THOUGH’ from customers- lingerie store Yandy pulled the costume within a day of its release.
Whilst speaking with Variety at the Emmy Awards on Monday, Martin said: “We could’ve gone 11, 12, 13 seasons,” He added the decision to end the series was up to the showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. Read More
We’ve been waiting patiently for the full trailer and now, less than a month until the show launches, it’s here. The adaptation of Shirley Jackson’s The Haunting of Hill House is a modern reimagining of the iconic horror story about five siblings who grew up in America’s most haunted house. It’s available on Netflix from October 12th, and here’s that trailer… if you dare!
It’s over 50 years since the original film adaptation with Julie Andrews in the starring role. This time Emily Blunt is picking up the mantel as Mary Poppins returns to London to help the Banks’ family once more.
Here’s the trailer, what do you think?
