The Official Trailer for The Hate U Give is Here

It’s a while now since we heard the news that the critically acclaimed, New York Times bestseller The Hate U Give was to be turned into a movie and now the first official trailer is here!

The Hate U Give (THUG) follows the story of Starr Carter who is growing up in a poor, mostly black neighbourhood but goes to a rich, mostly white prep school. As Starr is torn between two worlds, they collide as her childhood best friend is killed at the hands of a white police officer.

The Hate U Give received heaps of praise upon its release, dealing with issues and perspective that literature hasn’t for a long time. If the trailer is anything to go by then the movie is going to be just as sensational as the novel, here it is:
