Born on November 17 1983 in Southern California Christopher Paolini was homeschooled and would graduate at the age of fifteen whereupon he began writing his first novel Eragon. Inspired by J.R.R Tolkien and and Beowulf Paolini sayd his major influence when writing Eragon came from the book Jeremy Thatcher, Dragon Hatcher, by Bruce Coville.

Initially published in 2002 by his parents’ publishing company Eragon was destined to become another small number run novel that went nowhere that is until the stepson of author Carl Hiaasen found Eragon in a bookstore and loved it. Brought to the attention of his father’s publisher a second edition of Eragon was printed to a positive reception and Paolini was recognised as the “youngest author of a bestselling book series” on January 5, 2011. Wise beyond his years here are 8 quotes from Christopher Paolini.

Live in the present, remember the past, and fear not the future, for it doesn’t exist and never shall. There is only now..

Because you can’t argue with all the fools in the world. It’s easier to let them have their way, then trick them when they’re not paying attention.

Keep in mind that many people have died for their beliefs; it’s actually quite common. The real courage is in living and suffering for what you believe.

It’s amazing that a man who is dead can talk to people through these pages. As long as this books survives, his ideas live.

Books should go where they will be most appreciated, and not sit unread, gathering dust on a forgotten shelf, don’t you agree?

Wise? No, I simply learned to think.

The greatest enemy is one that has nothing to lose.

After completing the Inheritance Cycle in 2011 Christopher took a short writing hiatus; as of today he is writing a Science Fiction novel that has been tentatively titled  “#TSiaSoS” and says that he plans to return to his fictional world and setting for The Inheritance Cycle Alagaësia in the near future.
