The Peculiars are back!

If you hadn’t heard of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children before the last few weeks, then chances are you have now as the movie adaptation of the creepy YA trilogy hit the cinemas last week! The first book is part of a trilogy, and it’s much loved within our FRA community, and now fans will be delighted as Ransom Riggs announced on Thursday that he’s planning another trilogy featuring Miss Peregrine and her Peculiars!

Riggs released his statement yesterday, announcing that he’s taking the entire story to America, continuing the tale of Jacob Portman’s adventures with Miss Peregrine and her Peculiar Children. That statement reads…

“The first three novels introduced the peculiars and their world, but peculiardom is vast, its history is long, and there’s so much left to discover.

I can’t wait to delve deeper, and to bring the story to America — which, as it turns out, is a much more peculiar place than anyone realised!”

The first book in the originally trilogy was released back in 2011, and has earned itself millions of fans. Now with Tim Burton’s movie adaptation of the first book, even more fans are drawn into Miss Peregrine’s adventure.

Readers will have to wait until the autumn of 2017 for the as yet unnamed novel, and as confirmed by the author, it will be the first in a new trilogy from the Peculiars.

When you consider how the stories came about, six books and a movie seems quite the feat. Ransom Riggs found a stack of fascinating photographs and was hoping to get them published into a book. It was suggested to him that he should create stories for the photographs and the Peculiars were born.
