“I don’t know Charles Moriarty but I thank him for this act of generosity. Amy Jade Winehouse, an underrated beauty.”

NO MAJOR SPOILERS

This book should not be out of print. Yesterday evening, I went to Amoeba Hollywood for the purpose of browsing.

Nature called so I went to the restroom. As I opened the door to return to the main floor, I noticed a picture of a young Amy Winehouse carrying an electric guitar. She looks enticing.

Raven tresses cascading onto an argyle sweater paired with a slim, white skirt. The guitar has a resplendent gleam which almost bleaches the baby blue color. She is walking away from the photographer yet she is gazing at him. The stitched cover matches the hue of the guitar.

Upon deeper glance, Amy is on a nighttime stroll down a cobblestone street. This shot could be London, Paris or New York. It partly achieves the goal commissioned for Charles Moriarty by Amy’s then-manager, Nick Shymansky. Shymansky urged Amy and Charles “to find nondescript locations that could be mistaken for London (21).” Yet, even though I adore the picture, Shymansky wasn’t satisfied.

This tome of photographs were published in 2017. Apparently, few people purchased the book. Otherwise, it would still be in print. Amy exudes vibrant sensuality and glorious joy in these pages. Don’t dishonor Amy’s memory by stealing this book. Book a flight to Los Angeles and purchase a copy from Amoeba or order it from a reputable seller.
