The History of Ladybird Books

By February 26, 2017Children's Literature, News, Video

Ladybird books have made a revival in recent years with the explosion in the parody book market but most of us remember them as the Peter and Jane books from our childhood. These small hardbacks were the first books many of us read, and if you ever wondered why they are so small, how they are made, or anything else about the history of them, we have an interesting video to share.

The video is to promote an exhibition of Ladybird Books coming to Reading, England soon, the exhibition will run from 11 March to 2 July 2017 and entry is free. The display and the video is a fascinating insight into the history of these wonderful books we loved so much as children. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
