Sales Charts Indicate Hot Books for Young People this Christmas

Christmas is always a great time to stock the bookshelves for the youngsters in your home, especially if you’re bringing up children who are big readers. Publishers know this and November is a big time for new releases, and looking at sales figures on this month’s new releases, gives us an idea of what books will be hot with youngsters this Christmas. It might also give you some inspiration for gifts and stocking fillers!

Based on sales over the past three weeks, I’ve put together some book suggestions that your little people might appreciate unwrapping this Christmas morning.

 

The Midnight Gang – David Walliams

David Walliams is fast becoming the new Roald Dahl with his wonderful magical story telling. The Midnight Gang was released on 3rd November and tells the tale of a gang that come out to play when all the children are asleep. It’s the bestselling children’s book of the last three weeks, but it may be about to be overtaken by our next suggestion.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them – J. K Rowling

Rowling has had quite the year and Fantastic Beasts, released the day of the movie release is set to be the second biggest selling book of the year (behind The Cursed Child). This screenplay is likely to be in the Christmas stockings of adults and children alike!

Girl Online: Going Solo – Zoe (Zoelle) Sugg

You Tuber Zoella has a new release out this November too, and while the author was caught up in a ghost writer controversy, this doesn’t seem to have affected sales as it’s the hot book for girls this Christmas.
