11 Highly Anticipated Books to Look Forward to in 2017

Sales figures in the publishing industry were encouraging for 2016 and much of this has to do with the quality of literature released each year, so here’s hoping 2017 will be as successful a year for books with some hotly anticipated releases.

Today we’re taking a look ahead of the year, and hopefully helping you get ahead on your plans for reading in 2017 with books that we think will be firm favourites for the bestsellers lists this year ahead.

Homesick for Another World – Ottessa Moshfegh

Nominated for the Man Booker Prize 2016 for Eileen, Ottessa Moshfegh released her short story collection, Homesick for Another World, last week.

4 3 2 1 – Paul Auster

Released this month, 4 3 2 1 is Paul Auster’s first novel in seven years. The New York author has had previous success with Winter Journal and other novels but in 4 3 2 1 he recounts the life of Archibald Isaac Ferguson across four parallel lives.

Readers are in for a treat with a brand new book from Haruki Murukami this year. Men without Women is a collection of short stories about men who have found themselves alone, and it’s out this May.

Author of Girl with the Pearl Earring, Tracy Chevalier is the latest author to take part in the Hogarth Shakespeare project, rewriting the Bard’s work for a modern audience. The New Boy takes Othello to a schoolyard in Washington and it’s out on 11th May!

How to Stop Time – Matt Haig

In July, Matt Haig is to release his first novel for adults since 2013 when The Humans was released. How to Stop Time tells the story of a man who never ages, although he looks 40 he has lived through four centuries. There’s no cover release for this yet, but it’s out on 6th July.
