It’s Never Too Late to Become an Author

By August 7, 2016Literature

It’s never too late to become an author and it’s never too late to start writing a book; after all it’s said that there’s a book inside all of us and all that we need to do is get it down on paper. A simple enough thing you would think but one that so few of us ever get around to doing.
Ina Claire Frischholz was the same as millions of us who always knew there was a book inside her but had never done anything about it past the initial writing; a teacher and editor for her college newspaper where she earned her degree she had always had a love of writing, and it was in a writing class that she took thirty-eight years ago that she penned the tale of Salty’s Great Adventure.

The titular character of Salty is based on a real puppet that Ina used to use when teaching first grade at Robbins Elementary School in Omaha. He got his name from the city of Salzburg in Austria where Salty was bought and in the book Salty is a lonely puppet who finds purpose in life with the help of Santa Claus. After finishing her writing classes the manuscript lay forgotten for decades until Ina, now 83 decided that it was about time she fulfilled a lifelong dream of becoming a published author and of course, increasing her income a little.

So she set about finding a publisher for her children’s book and in October of last year received the call she was waiting for; Christian Faith Publishing Inc was going to publish her book.

Released last month Salty’s Great Adventure is available through Amazon and Ina hopes to add to her bibliography with several memoirs of her teaching days already in the pipeline.

Not yet satisfied with her achievements Ina has said “This is the greatest thrill of my life, getting it published. The only thing that would thrill me more is if it got to be a pop-up book,” and that she dreams of becoming the ‘Grandma Moses‘ of children’s literature.
Isn’t she wonderful, and what a great inspiration to us all who think we have left it too late to live our dream of becoming published.
