By May 18, 2016New Releases

On his Twitter feed today Dan Brown has revealed he is to release an abridged version of his hit novel which is aimed at the 13+ Young Adult audience.

The YA Version of The Da Vinci Code is set to be released in both paperback and eBook formats in plenty of time for Christmas with Penguin Random House UK releasing the new version on the 8th September and America following just a few days later on the 13th with Hardback and eBook formats.

When it was originally released in 2003, The Da Vinci Code was an immediate hit and as of 2009 had been translated into 44 languages and sold over 80 million copies worldwide before being made into a blockbusting film starring Tom Hanks as the story’s protagonist Robert Langdon. This new abridged version promises to bring the adventures of Langdon and cryptographer Sophie Neveu to a whole new audience.

Dan said of the new version “It is my sincere hope that this adaptation of The Da Vinci Code sparks in young adults the same thrill of discovery that I feel while exploring hidden history and the mysteries of the world we live in.” adding that “My parents were educators, and so it’s no surprise that I have a fascination with history and research. In fact, if I weren’t an author, I’m sure I would be a teacher myself.”

The covers for the new novel have been revealed and it is already available to pre order.
