Fatshaming and racism in David Walliams’ children’s books exposed by journalist

David Walliams’ children’s books have been criticised for offensive characters and bigoted attitudes.

Jack Monroe, journalist and activist, took to Twitter recently to explain exactly why she will not be reading Walliams’ books to their child any longer.

The multi-Tweet explanation will come as a shock to anyone who has bought the children’s books for their children, as many have no idea the sorts of attitudes portrayed within the pages.

Walliams is a prolific writer and because very popular very quickly thanks to his already-established fame. His books have outsold every other except JK Rowling’s Harry Potter series. The content of the books, however, has been accused of being sneakily racist, bullying, and heavily reliant on stereotypes and crudity.
