Jumanji has Inspired Another Movie Adaptation!

By June 20, 2017Adaptations, News

The 1981 fantasy picture book, Jumanji by Chris Van Allsburg has once again inspired the making of a movie.

Originally an illustrated book for children about a couple of siblings who get caught up in a magical board game, the adaptations take it so much further and expand the story wonderfully.

The newest Jumanji film is said to be a continuation of the 1995 film version, and many fans of the original book, and its film adaptation, are very excited for its release in December 2017.

After the success of the Robin Williams 1995 epic movie of the same name, a continuation of that story is on its way. The new version is set to star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, among others, and will be entitled “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle”.

At CinemaCon in March 2017, the complete title of the film was announced and the plot revealed. The film will be about teenagers who are given the task of cleaning out the basement of a school only to find an old video game version of Jumanji. Hilarity and japes ensue as they get pulled into the jungle setting of the first film. It has also been said that there is a nod to the late, great, Robin Williams in the new film.

Let’s hope it’s as good as it looks!
